His name is Bolleke and this Labrador got himself into a bit of strife.
Nothing can be good when this was all that was left of his toy. Where was the rest of it??
We could not quite see a blockage via X-Ray or ultrasound but something just was not right.
Bolleke then underwent an exploratory laparotomy.
What did we manage to find?
THATS RIGHT… THE REMAINDER OF THE TOY!!
Poor Bolleke did require more than one incision to remove all of the toy as it had caused what is called a linear foreign body, his surgery was touch and go for awhile but with fantastic vets and nurses we managed to pull him through.
After many post operative checks and his owners keeping him under fantastic guidance, we are happy to say that Bolleke has made a full recovery and hopefully stays out of mischief and away from his chew toys for awhile.
If you ever have any concerns that your dog may have eaten something they shouldn’t have please contact the clinic on (07) 55224566 and arrange an appointment to see one of our fantastic staff.
