Our experienced and friendly team of veterinarians, nurses and support staff are specialists in providing first-class care for your much-loved pet.
All members of the Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic continuously upgrade their skills to ensure that every pet receives outstanding, compassionate care and the best quality experience. Whether it be for a check-up, grooming or treatment for injury or illness we are here to help you and your pet family.
Our staff are a fun-loving, close knit clinic family, who share the same work related goals. Your pets are our passion! And we will treat your beloved fur babies as though they were our own.
Our team are working longer hours in order to provide after business hours and emergency services to your pets. We’re here from 7:30am- 8:00pm Mon-Fri and 8:00am-4:00pm Saturday. Public Holidays 9:00am-12:00 miday. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS IN ORDER FOR OUR VETS TO HAVE SOME WELL DESERVED REST
Dr Ross Evans (BVSc MACVSc) – Veterinary Surgeon
Ross grew up in Rockhampton, Qld. At age 17 Ross was accepted at University of Queensland to study Veterinary Science. After graduating in 1976 with
After their two sons were born, Ross packed up his family in 2009 and returned to Australia where he and Sue started up Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic. Ross furthered his qualifications by completing a Masters in Veterinary Science and has since completed his membership in small animal surgery along with several other courses which have enabled him to broaden his veterinary skill and is qualified to do a number of complicated and specialised surgical procedures.
Ross demands a high level of medical and surgical practice from himself and the staff. He is found at the clinic most days of the week and alternates weekends with our two other vets, Dr Leonora and Dr Christina. Constantly in demand and loved by his clients and patients, there are no forthcoming signs of retirement for Ross, as there are too many exciting new changes in his profession which he finds challenging and inviting.
Dr Leonora Vargas (BVSc) – Veterinary Surgeon
Since Leonora can remember, she has always wanted to be a vet. She graduated in Chile, her home country, in 2006 and moved to Australia in 2007.
She loves small animals and is particularly passionate about emergencies and internal medicine as she enjoys working up difficult cases.
One of her most fulfilling experiences as a vet was volunteering in India and she is looking forward to going back one day.
Leonora lives with her fiance in an eco-cabin, and the pair have has recently adopted their first pet. “Pisco” was a stray kitten when was hit by a car, suffering multiple fractures and being unable to walk. In his luck, he ended up in Leonora’s hands.
Leonora likes learning new skills in her free time and is currently taking piano and singing lessons.
Dr Christina Webb BVSc BVMS
Dr Christina Webb comes to us all the way from the USA but has been living in Australia for 11 years. She obtained her Veterinary Degree at Murdoch University in Western Australia.
Christina worked for 3 years in a semi-rural practice in South West, WA, and often saw Alpacas, Sheep, Goats, Wildlife and Small animals. She then worked in Perth and the Gold Coast for 3 more years before joining Dr Ross and Dr Leonora recently here at Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic. She’s happy to see anything weird and wonderful such as fish, turtles and snakes. She’s even seen a pet Walking Stick! She has a soft spot for alpacas, llamas and goats but really loves all animals.
Dr Christina lives with her husband Steve and has 2 dogs, 2 rescue cats, and 2 horses. She loves paddle boarding and horse riding and her ultimate goal is to practice horseback archery because she is crazy like that.
Dr Caroline Goût BVSc (Hons)
Caroline graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013 with first class honours. She has always had an affinity for animals and knew she wanted to be a vet from a very young age. After graduating from vet school, Caroline worked in shelter medicine for two and a half years helping homeless dogs, cats and pocket pets. She then decided to take a different career path working Emergency and Critical care at a busy specialist practice in Melbourne. After missing the Gold Coast too much, she decided to move back home after a year. Caroline has been with the Tallebudgera Vet team since 2017 and hasn’t looked back. I recently
completed an ultrasound course via the University of Sydney and I’m currently refining my
ultrasonography skills. Out of work, she likes getting to the gym and enjoying our beautiful Gold Coast beaches with her Siberian husky ‘Bruce Wayne’.
Sue Evans – Business/Practice Manager
Sue is the business/practice manager at
As a busy mother of two teenage sons, Sue’s ability to multitask and problem solve is outstanding. Together with Ross, Sue leads the team in our strive for excellence. She is always willing to try and help in any way she can, ensuring that both our clients and pets are satisfied and happy with their experience at Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic.
Debbie Grimley – Head Nurse
Debbie is our amazing practice Head Nurse. She spent her first 8 years in Canberra where she obtained her qualifications. Deb then moved to Sydney where she spent 7 years in a managerial role in small animal practices where she was actively involved in rehabilitating and rehoming pound animals. She is highly valued for her skills and experience as a nurse and Deb efficiently keeps order in the surgery and prep room. She assists the staff with ongoing education in our clinic’s strive to always deliver the newest and best treatments for your pet.
Deb has a beautiful labrador called Nigel and an adorable little boy called Alex. Always cheerful with a beautiful smile to greet fellow staff members and our clients, Debbie heads up our awesome nursing team and dedicates much of her time to improving clinic protocols and ensuring our nursing team delivers the highest standard of care to our patients.
Jodi Lopez – Senior Nurse/Puppy Preschool
Jodi is a qualified veterinary nurse with 26 years’ experience in the industry. She has been with us for ten years and works for us part-time as a senior nurse. Puppies are Jodi’s passion and she runs our very successful Puppy Pre-school classes every Sunday between 10 am to 11 am at our clinic.
Outside of work, Jodi is kept busy with exercising, looking after her children, both two-legged and four-legged. Jodi has a Staffy pup called Zara and a cheeky Burmese called Carlos, who keep her on her toes.
Jodi has a special way with all animals and is always happy to give you advice on raising a happy and healthy puppy. Feel free to call on her for any queries regarding your new puppy.
Erin – Receptionist
Erin joined the reception team in April 2018 after returning to QLD from the northern beaches of Sydney.
She has over 10 years experience in the veterinary industry and has worked in a variety of areas including animal welfare, general practice and human resources within a specialist animal hospital.
Erin combines her love of animals with her experience in customer service to provide exceptionally great care to the clients and their pets at the clinic.
Outside of the clinic Erin is kept busy by her 2 young children and hopes to add a fur child into the mix in the future.
Rosie – Senior Nurse
From the time she could crawl, Rosie loved the company of animals, which has now lead to a lifelong career looking after them.
Rosie began her nursing career in New Zealand over 20 years ago. Since then she has also worked in numerous clinics throughout Australia and England. With a love of wildlife and exotics, Rosie also works as a nurse at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital and she recently gained her qualification in zoo-keeping.
A self-confessed crazy cat lady, it’s no surprise her favourite animal is a cat, (both the large and small varieties!), with tigers being her absolute favourite. She has her own mini-tigers at home, 2 little ginger domestic short-hairs, called Taz and Lily. She fostered them 4 years ago, but fell in love and ended up adopting them herself.
Justine Scarborough – Groomer
Justine is our wonderful head groomer at Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic. Born and bred on the Gold Coast and currently living locally in Tallebudgera Valley with her husband and two delightful young children. Justine has been a qualified vet nurse for 18 years and took up grooming in 2013. You can find her here at the clinic four days a week beautifying your furry four-legged babies.
Justine has a gorgeous Cavoodle named Kirby-Russell, an Irish Wolfhound cross, Thelma, as well as a
Silja Mack – Veterinary Technician / Receptionist
Silja is our Veterinary Technician who loves life and can be found on the floor cuddling puppies or any animal that sets foot through our doors. She joined our great team in 2014 after working at an emergency clinic and after numerous overseas surf trips. She enjoys a wave almost every morning before providing top care to your furry family. Outside of work, she also enjoys all things creative, like jewellery making and pottery.
Silja only has one furry family member named Bob-Lee Swagger, a rescue bunny. She brings a bright sunny smile to our family practice and is always willing to give expert advice where needed on what is best for your pets.
Alexander Evans- Receptionist
Alexander is Ross and Sue Evans’ eldest son. He has grown up in the clinic and has joined us part-time
to help out in Reception.
Alexander’s primary passion is his music. He is a singer/songwriter under the name of Alexander W
Gabriel Evans- Trainee Nurse
Gabriel is Ross and Sue Evans’ youngest son and is currently completing his Cert 4 in Veterinary
Nursing. He has gained valuable experience working at the clinic and it is great having a strong
young male veterinary nurse who is so caring with all the animals.
Yuri – Contract Groomer
Yuri is our contract groomer here at Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic every Tuesday. She is originally from Japan but now you can find her here turning your beloved furry friends into beautifully groomed pets, especially Poodles and anything that is small and fluffy.
