Dr Ross Evans (BVSc MACVSc) – Veterinary Surgeon

Ross grew up in Rockhampton, Qld. At age 17 Ross was accepted at University of Queensland to study Veterinary Science. After graduating in 1976 with second class honours Bachelor of Veterinary Science, he travelled to the U.K. where he spent 6 months before flying to South Africa. He loved the country so much he ended up spending 25 years there, where he met his wife Sue and worked in several self-owned South African veterinary practices, primarily in a surgical position.
After their two sons were born, Ross packed up his family in 2009 and returned to Australia where he and Sue started up Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic. Ross furthered his qualifications by completing a Masters in Veterinary Science and has since completed his membership in small animal surgery along with several other courses which have enabled him to broaden his veterinary skill and is qualified to do a number of complicated and specialised surgical procedures.
Ross demands a high level of medical and surgical practice from himself and the staff. He is found at the clinic most days of the week and alternates weekends with our two other vets, Dr Leonora and Dr Christina. Constantly in demand and loved by his clients and patients, there are no forthcoming signs of retirement for Ross, as there are too many exciting new changes in his profession which he finds challenging and inviting.

Dr Leonora Vargas (BVSc) – Veterinary Surgeon

Since Leonora can remember, she has always wanted to be a vet. She graduated in Chile, her home country, in 2006 and moved to Australia in 2007.
She loves small animals and is particularly passionate about emergencies and internal medicine as she enjoys working up difficult cases.
One of her most fulfilling experiences as a vet was volunteering in India and she is looking forward to going back one day.
Leonora lives with her fiance in an eco-cabin, and the pair have has recently adopted their first pet. “Pisco” was a stray kitten when was hit by a car, suffering multiple fractures and being unable to walk. In his luck, he ended up in Leonora’s hands.
Leonora likes learning new skills in her free time and is currently taking piano and singing lessons.

She then worked in Perth and the Gold Coast for 3 more years before joining Dr Ross and Dr Leonora recently here at Tallebudgera Veterinary Clinic. She’s happy to see anything weird and wonderful such as fish, turtles and snakes. She’s even seen a pet Walking Stick! She has a soft spot for alpacas, llamas and goats but really loves all animals.
Dr Christina lives with her husband Steve and has 2 dogs, 2 rescue cats, and 2  horses. She loves paddle boarding and horse riding and her ultimate goal is to practice horseback archery because she is crazy like that.

Dr Caroline Goût BVSc (Hons)

Caroline graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013 with first class honours. She has always had an affinity for animals and knew she wanted to be a vet from a very young age. After graduating from vet school, Caroline worked in shelter medicine for two and a half years helping homeless dogs, cats and pocket pets. She then decided to take a different career path working Emergency and Critical care at a busy specialist practice in Melbourne. After missing the Gold Coast too much,  she decided to move back home after a year. Caroline has been with the Tallebudgera Vet team since 2017 and hasn’t looked back. I recently
completed an ultrasound course via the University of Sydney and I’m currently refining my
ultrasonography skills.

Rosie began her nursing career in New Zealand over 20 years ago.  Since then she has also worked in numerous clinics throughout Australia and England.  With a love of wildlife and exotics, Rosie also works as a nurse at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital and she recently gained her qualification in zoo-keeping.
